Would you even consider suggestion that the US Military
overthrow the US Government?
I didn't think so, but a Republican office holder in the
Great State of Missouri did just that.
Republican Debbie Dunnegan Waters, Jefferson
County, Missouri Recorder of Deeds did just that, here is what she posted on
facebook:
"I
have a question for all my friends who have served or are currently serving in
our military ... having not put on a uniform nor taken any type military oath,
there has to be something that I am just not aware of. But I cannot and do not
understand why no action is being taken against our domestic enemy. I know he
is supposedly the commander in chief, but the constitution gives you the
authority. What am I missing? Thank you for your bravery and may God keep you
safe."
Well Ms. Dunnegan for your information here are the three military oaths, first is the
Enlistment Oath.— Each person enlisting in an armed force shall take the following oath:
"I, (state name of enlistee), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."
Second is the oath taken by all Commissioned Officers who are commissioned under the authority of the President of the United States with the advice and consent of the United States Senate:
I, [name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and
defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies,
foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the
same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation
or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge
the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.
Third is that of Officers of the National Guard of the various States, however, take an additional oath:
I, [name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and
defend the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the
State (Commonwealth, District, Territory) of ___ against all enemies,
foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the
same; that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States
and the Governor of the State (Commonwealth, District, Territory) of
___, that I make this obligation freely, without any mental reservations
or purpose of evasion, and that I will well and faithfully discharge
the duties of the Office of [grade] in the Army/Air National
Guard of the State (Commonwealth, District, Territory) of ___ upon which
I am about to enter, so help me God.
