The Trump and Republican war on the poor.

In Indiana Affordable Care Act Marketplace premiums are going up about 26% for 2026. The government announced that inflation is up 3%. So we have 3% vs. 26%. I am pretty sure it will be about the same in the other 49 states.

SNAP benefits to be about half for November. So around November 15th people will start to run out of food. Nice going Trump. Too bad your $300 million ballroom is not done, you could invite SNAP recipients to a Thanksgiving Dinner. Many will be missing one this year. But it may take longer to figure out what half is by the government since the workers who do math on what is half are not at there jobs due to the Republican shutdown. Speaker Johnson said about the payments: “So, it’s not as easy as hitting go send on a computer — you gota go through and recalculate partial payments to the 42 million recipients of the program,”

As an engineer I find it very easy to tell a computer 50% of everything and push one button. I can only guess that Mr. Johnson either does not know what half of something is or can’t find the send button on a computer. Then to make matters even worse the Trump government has told grocery stores they can’t offer a discount to SNAP buyers to help them out during this trouble times.

So here we have the Republican answer 42 million people to go hungry and 20 million people will lose health care in the greatest nation on earth. What kind of level of cruelty is this?

What’s next will Trump try and end the SNAP program all together just like he is trying to end health care.

Memo to the hungry and sick people end the nightmare, vote Blue in 2026.
