Once again Fishers Pays off a Developer

OK Mayor Fadness said, “One of the things I hear the most from our Fishers residents is the desire for more local food and entertainment options.”

So here comes the “Yard” a private development by Thompson Thrift Retail group and low and behold a large chunk of money form the City of Fishers, much of it hidden of course from the citizens under various statements that most people don’t understand.

Here we go:

1.     The agreement includes waiver of Impact Fees.  Why?
2.     Economic Development Bonds to the tune of $7 million dollars. Why?
3.     TIF District – reduces tax collection over time and hurts the HSE School district.  Why?
4.     The city will lease two 1,500 sq ft buildings to be used as a culinary and / or restaurant accelerator. Why?

If this has such a great demand and is wanted by residents why is the City giving even one penny to the developer. If it were badly wanted wouldn’t the developers be happy to risk their own money to make a profit. Why is the City allowing any of this or is to insure that money flows into the re-election coffers of the city council members.  Give the developer money and expect payback later in donations to a campaign. By the way how many millions is this worth? Less government republicans seems to be in 100% and in lock step with this development. It seems that pay for play is at it again. The name Thompson appears on Mr. Fadness’s campaign contribution reports as well as many other contractors to the city.  I guess taxpayers don’t count.  Mr. Fadness you should return every penny from any one or business that has a contract with the city.  I know it is allowed in the State of Indiana but it is still not ethical.  By the way the same goes for many of the other City of Fishers Council members you should not accept any money from contractors or from the owners who are trying to hide they are paying you off. I know it does not in any way influence your vote on the council. Who are you kidding, not me.

Voters and taxpayers of the City of Fishers please remember this when the City elections come around in a few years if you don’t I will remind you.

Its time Kathy Richardson resign as Election Administrator or State Rep.

State Rep Kathy Richardson continues to run her own election and this may be the biggest case of potential election fraud in the State of Indiana. She is the “Election Administrator” of the Hamilton County and at the same time elected to the office of State Representative.  Isn’t it time she be made to pick one job and not run her own election.  Of course in Hamilton (one party) County no one see’s anything wrong with this. Then again in the one party state they will not find anything wrong with this.

Then she continues to have early voting in the courthouse so people can see her walking around from her office right across the hall from the voting.

Now lets take a look at early voting. Why did people have to stand in line for hours at the Carmel Library and Fishers City Hall? In some cases up to five hours. Why is the main early voting held in the Courthouse with the very limited parking and all kinds of security checks to get into he building?

Here are some easy solutions to the mess we had in early voting. First of all add extra voting machines at both the Library and City Hall. The machines were available, as they were not needed until election day for other locations. Easy to double or triple the number of machines at each location.  Or was the five-hour wait on purpose? Ms. Richardson can claim what a great job she did having early voting and ignore the lack of thinking on her part.  Or the time the machines failed at the Carmel Library and then turning away those people at Fishers when they arrived a few minutes late after being told to go to Fishers from Carmel.

The Courthouse had 18 machines and the other two only five.  Now my other question is why the Courthouse? Oh I know because it has always been done at the Courthouse and Ms. Richardson needs people to see her.  The County owns just blocks away Fairgrounds with big buildings and lots of parking. So way not use these facilities to hold early voting. It would reduce the amount of Sherriff Deputies needed to inspect every person entering the Courthouse, reduce the need to try and find a parking spot and just make life easier for the voters. Can’t make life easier for voters. Just make it look like your making it easier for voters. But then again it would reduce Ms. Richardson’s visibility to voters and she can’t have that.

Now back to Ms. Richardson. It is time she be forced to either resign from one of the two jobs that are in conflict. How can she be responsible for counting votes that determine if she wins or loses an election? How can she be responsible for the voting machines and to top it off machines that do not have any paper trail? She can’t and it is time the County Clerk and Commissioners step up to their responsibility to the voters and remove this out and out conflict of interest and potential for voter fraud.

"A candidate for elected office or a member of a candidate’s campaign finance committee may not serve as an appointed member of the board, a proxy for an appointed member of the board, or be employed by a county election board. The circuit court clerk may not serve as a member of a candidate’s campaign finance committee other than the clerk’s own candidate’s campaign finance committee."

Hamilton County Republicans as a Group Refused to Debate

If you live and vote in Hamilton County you have to read this:

Pivotal local elections to determine the future of public safety projects

What’s worst it shows that the County Republican’s holding elected office have lied to the League of Women Voters about the debate. We heard the Republicans couldn’t come because there was a meeting and they had to go to it.  In this article “Dillinger said the republican candidates made a group decision not to attend the debate because they did not want to give the democrats the media attention that their participation in the event would have brought.”

So here we have it an out and out lie by Mr. Dillinger and all the Republican candidates. Are these the people you want in office?

If you take the time to read the article you come away with a very bad impression of Mr. Dillinger and the rest of his crew. One of an ego that is beyond belief, one of we know best, one we have done this so long and so well no one else can do better.

So no one can do better, no new ideas, only arrogance and a one party system that can be run without any checks and balances. Well lately they are having some fights even within their ranks, but not for the benefit of the people of the county but rather for themselves.

Its is time to vote in a few if not all Democrats to cause a change in the good old boy network at the county level. What a shock to the system if they had to answer questions at a Council or Commissioner meeting in front of the public instead making all those deals in private.  Go to one of the meetings and watch and then try and tell anyone what happened. You can’t. Ask for complete copies of what they are going to vote for in advance, guess what they expect you to pay ten cents a page for the copies. Talk about a closed system to keep the public out. Its time to shut this down and the way to do it is with electing new people to the County Offices.

I am running for County Surveyor, the current surveyor has been in office since 1977. Its time for a change and a new look.

From Down Under

The following is from a good friend in Australia, he did a great job of putting this in a very, I feel, correct and conceiving statement.

"Re Trump - the overwhelming majority of people down this way think the US is barking mad to even consider let alone vote in someone like Trump.  He is an over privileged bully with a supersized ego and no sense of diplomacy or international relations.  If he gets in the world will become a very dangerous place I fear!"
Collin Fuller

Oh my, six days to go of the never ending ads telling us what is wrong with the other guy and nothing about what the person running for office is going to do. Andy Mor, Ray Skillman and the only name you need to know (BTW- what’s his name) all look pretty good right now as far as TV ads go.

Shame, Shame, Shame on Susan Brooks

Shame, Shame, Shame on Susan Brooks

In today's mail is a postcard form Susan Brooks. It looks like a campaign ad, it’s all about the great work she does for veterans, or at least she claims that to you.

BUT, in the upper corner after the return address in small print it says, "This mailing was prepared, published and mailed at taxpayer expense."

Susan you should be ashamed at your self, you should pay back to the US Government the entire cost of this obvious political advertisement. It is not an update from Congresswomen Susan Brooks it is a pure and simple political ad from Susan Brooks, just a little over a week before the election.

To all the fiscal conservative voters, is this the type of representative you want in Congress? Wasting your tax dollars. Susan Brooks is using the system for her own gain.

Susan shame on you.

Jeff Hern time to Resign, Voters time to insure he is not elected.

As a candidate I understand the position of Rick McKinney and it rare that I would never agree with him on political matters, I have to agree with him concern the removal of his signs and the finding of Jeff Hern’s cell phone at the site of the missing sign.

One of the major problems on running for office is sign theft.  When I was running the City Yes campaign the Town of Fishers would remove signs and instead of placing them at the Town Hall dumpster where they claimed they would remove any signs in the right of way, etc. They put them in a barn at one of the town baseball fields and even many signs that were legal were removed. Of course I found out what they were doing and when they were mowing the fields I walked into the barn and removed lots and lots of our signs. The town was guilty of a crime but proving it would be almost impossible.  When I ran for office I always found my signs missing. I wish I had a trail camera watching some of the sites. Most candidate figure it is part of the dirty tricks of some of the other candidates or followers of the candidate.

Now back to Jeff Hern. He was not a follower of a candidate, who may not understand the rules, he is the candidate and knows better.  Can he ever be trusted again in public office.  No. Why did it take from April15th to this week for the special prosecutor to take so long to file charges?  Mr. McKinney said. "Citizens need to know whether or not they are electing a possible thief to a higher office than the one he currently holds."

While the charges are for one sign and the sign where the cell phone was found but we all remember three more of Rick’s signs went missing in the same manor.  Of course that must have been someone else who stole those signs and only Rick’s signs were stolen. I wonder who did that?

Back to a real question if Mr. Hern is convicted, he faces up to 1 year in jail and a maximum fine of $10,000. But the way this is going the odds are he will get a slap on the wrist. That would be wrong and a slap in the face to all candidates. Jeff Hern should resign from any office he holds or may hold.

In fact it is time for the voters to reject Mr. Hern and vote for one of the Democratic candidates to bring a check and balance to the county government.  Having government run by one party for so many years has lead to people like Jeff Hern in government where they think they can do as they please.

Vote for Joe - More on Jeff Hern and Surveyor

I have been thinking about the Larry in Fishers article I posted yesterday on this blog. I have some more thoughts on the saga.

Jeff Hern running for Hamilton County Council may face a Misdemeanor Charge for stealing a campaign sign. Of course formal charges have not yet been filed and it will be after the election by the time anything is done. Funny how this has taken so long it was April when his cell phone was found next to where the sign was. It takes less time to investigate a murder. But come on Jeff isn't it time for you to resign from your current Township Post and not accept any vote for you. The holding of a public office is a public trust and you no longer have the public trust. Maybe it is time for the voters of Hamilton County to switch out parties and bring honest government to the people. When my opponent has been in office since 1977 does he think he answered to the public anymore. Doubtful. He takes it fully for granted. Time to change.

Jeff Hern May Face Misdemeanor Charge

A Special Prosecutor will recommend a misdemeanor charge be filed against Fall Creek Township Trustee Jeff Hern, according to a source with knowledge of the investigation results.  Hern, a Republican County Council candidate in this year’s general election, has not commented publicly on accusations against him.
Police say they found Hern’s cell phone in an area of Fishers where campaign signs of his County Council primary opponent, Rick McKinney, were missing.  McKinney issued a news release last April urging the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office to move more quickly on the investigation.  The Hamilton County Prosecutor then asked for a special prosecutor to be appointed in this case,
Both McKinney and Hern won in their primary race for council seats.  Both, along with fellow Republican Brad Beaver, are heavy favorites to win county council seats in the general election.
It is not known what precise misdemeanor charge will be recommended by the special prosecutor.

Memo to Hamilton County Republicans

This is a rich county and full of Republicans. So all you rich Republicans should read this article, are you sure you want your net worth to drop 10-15%? Isn't it time to vote for us Democrats, you see when everyone does well, you will do even better. BTW- in Hamilton County the elected leaders love to raise taxes, spend a lot of money, are you sure you want them to continue in office. Its time to hit the re-set button in this County - elect us and you will see a major change for the better, if not in a few years you can throw us out, but after a few years I doubt you will.

Pay for Play

What is Pay for Play?

It is where a contractor makes a donation to a political campaign with the hope of a returned favor in the future. It seems to be alive and well in Hamilton County even when no one is running against the office holder. For example the Country Surveyor has not had anyone run against him for years. I am the first person in a long time to run against him.  Then how come over the last two years he has gotten a contribution from Christorpher B. Burke Ltd? Its an engineering firm that has had contracts and placed bids for contracts for his office. Not much money but makes you wonder.

A big deal is the building of Highway 37 with roundabouts. Steve Dillinger on Jan 2, 2016 recieved a contribution of $1,000. from Citizens for Better Roads. You might want to look at the 2015 paperwork with a list of contractors etc. That gave him money. Including those that he had to approved for county work.

Now Ms. Altman has in 2012 also got money from Citizens for Better Roads and a materials company also a concrete pavement association. Then their is Mark Heirbrandt with contributions from SAMCO, the sewer people who recently started to charge excessive sewer inspection fees, engineering, paving, contractors and lets not leave off the law firms.

What would happen if the state passed a law that anyone that contributes to a political campaign be considered for a contract issued by the office of the person running for office. One thing would happen overnight - pay to play donations would drop to near zero. Second we might just get a more honest government.

If elected I will not accept any donations from contractors, law firms, or anyone else that might be involved in a contract with the county or a relative, etc. So vote for me for County Surveyor and honest government.

Straighen out a Creek - What is the Surveyor thinking.

You won't believe this but I was told yesterday that the county surveyor wanted to take a creek and make it straight and then dig the banks to make the water flow away and down this creek faster. Now that is exactly opposite of what we should be doing. We need the water to flow slow and be absorbed into the ground and at the same time absorb the fertilizer in the run off instead of it flowing into our lakes and causing more and more algae growth.

BTW- it is the responsibility of the surveyor to maintain drainage in the county not just maps. In fact the drainage is a much bugger part of the job. Isn’t time we bring green technology to this area instead of bulldozers.

Since the current surveyor has been in office since 1977 maybe he has not changed the way he has done business since 1977. It is time to bring new technology to this ignored county office. As a forward thinking engineer I will bring this office to 2017 and not stay 40 years behind.

Has the Ham County Surveyor done something to your property?

-->
Last night I got a phone call from someone who was mad as hell about the County Surveyor. It appears he took a ditch with water flowing that was not brothering anyone or anything, never flooded etc. Then turned it into a regulated drain and sent this landowner a new assessment and required payment. Talk about mad.

Now my question is have any of you others been harmed by the County Surveyor I would like to hear about it. No names will be published, just want to know what else he has done to people of this county.  Sent me  an e-mail to mrmac@aol.com

By the way if elected before any work that will be done on your property you will be notified and have a chance to ask questions and talk about it. Isn't it time the "government" works with the citizens?  It seems the Surveyor who has been in office since 1977 has forgotten he was elected by the people, maybe its time to end his contract.  Vote for Joe Weingarten.

Hey Ham County Surveyor is this true?

I was in Cicero last evening meeting with a bunch of very nice folks. They were kind of shocked someone was actually going to run against the County Surveyor. "About time" was one of the nice comments. Now I was told the about a lock and store I would see on my way home. They told me it was rumored that it was owned by the current surveyor and it was next to a drain called the AF Ingerman Ditch and that some people wanted to develop that land and the surveyor kept losing the reports and never seem to get around to working on this drain. They suggested I look into what was going on. Now of course their is not way to truly figure out what is going on with this office, but here is what I found.

Yes the current surveyor does owns the lock and store in Cicero according to records in the Indiana Secretary of State records.  I also saw that land on the other side of the road was owned by people with the same last name. Yes it is in an area where he keeps losing paperwork for years of the AF Ingerman Ditch. Yes no other real development has been accomplished in the area. So why or should I say maybe no work has been done. If this work is done would the property values go up and would the drain work result in higher assessments and would the surveyor have to pay more taxes. Hmm could it be why the work has not been done. If elected the AF Ingerman Ditch work will move up to the top.

It is time to replace the surveyor with someone who would be fair and not protecting his own property at the cost of others.

It is time to elect Joe Weingarten as surveyor.

Why are Hamilton County Surveyor Public Records Blocked and Misleading

It is very interesting that if you go on the Internet to check out a simple Hamilton County Surveyor document you find it blocked. In fact I found one after another blocked. So you have to dig to find the answer. Here is an example:
Harry Herr Drain, Maintenance Assessment Increase

Go ahead copy it and put in your Google search

Save you some time here is the link

Now on this page click on the name, in fact click on any of the Drain names and here is what you get:

“Blocked by Content Security Policy

This page has a content security policy that prevents it from being loaded in this way.

Firefox prevented this page from loading in this way because the page has a content security policy that disallows it.”

OK so go to the County website and here is what you find:
“Drainage Notices
Posted on: August 25, 2016
Harry Herr Drain, Maintenance Assessment Increase
BEFORE THE HAMILTON COUNTY DRAINAGE BOARD IN THE MATTER OF THE
Harry Herr Drain, Maintenance Assessment Increase
NOTICE
Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 405 of the 1965 Indiana Drainage Code that this Board, prior to final adjournment on August 22, 2016 has issued an order adopting the Schedule of Assessments, filed the same and made public announcement thereof at the hearing and ordered publication. If judicial review of the findings and order of the Board is not requested pursuant to Article Eight of this code within twenty (20) days from the date of this publication, the order shall be conclusive.
Hamilton County Drainage Board
Attest: Lynette Mosbaugh “

Of course this public notice says nothing. Anyone reading it would have no clue, you would assume an assessment was increased where this drain is located. How much? Where is it?

When you dig further you can find the actual letter to the Drainage Board that does not call for an increase but rather keeping the assessment the same as established in 2014. So why is the title for an “increase.”

Maybe we need to have plain English established in the Surveyor’s Office?  Maybe the County Drainage Board should not have approved a letter with a misleading title? Why is there a security policy on a drainage notice?

Maybe its time for the voters of Hamilton County to elect a new Surveyor with proven government administrative capabilities and engineering expertise. I still have no clue where this drain is located.

Fishers to Raise Taxes and Council Pay - Hmmm

The City Council may almost double their pay to $21,500 a year.

Fadness proposes a $12 million dollars new police headquarters.

Oh did I forget taxes will be going up, so much for Republicans who do not raise taxes and who do not spend.

And to top it off Fadness wants to enact a $25 tax on each vehicle you own. To pay for roads. Now he claims it would only be used for roads, but do I trust him. No way, at the rate he is going the money that should have gone to roads will go elsewhere and be replaced with the $25 wheel tax for roads. You know the three shells and which one is hiding the pea. What is interesting is the budget discussion were this came up was held at a retreat in a small room out of the way at Conner Prairie. No room for Fishers citizens to attend nor would they want Fishers citizens and tax payers to attend.  Business as usual for Fishers, out of the way behind closed doors and ignore the taxpayers. Maybe instead of giving all the tax breaks to his developer buddies they could pay their share of taxes.

Since I am running for office even if it has nothing to do with this post I have to provide the following statement:

Weingarten for Surveyor Hamilton County -Part One

How come the election office of Hamilton County sold a map, showing the voting districts, just two weeks ago to another one of the candidates and it doesn’t match the map that is on line? Also that map that was sold was dated 2013 and it shows an old road that does not exist anymore nor did it when the map was printed. In fact that road vanished in 1992 when the County government put a building on that land. Was the County Surveyor asleep or busy digging drains in Cicero, taking people’s land for his work? More on the land grabbing surveyor later. But he was surveyor when that road vanished. In fact he has been surveyor far too long. And here I was under the impression that the political party he belongs too believes in private property and property rights.

Well I guess I am wrong, I will admit when I am wrong. He does not believe in property rights. He believes in government and surveyor rights.

But at least if elected surveyor the county election maps will be up to date and if there are old ones lying around they will be recycled instead of being sold.

Trump and his Mexican Wall

An d Trump said

“I will build a great wall – and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me – and I’ll build them very inexpensively. I will build a great, great wall on our southern border, and I will make Mexico pay for that wall. Mark my words.”

You know China built a wall and no Mexicans came across – maybe Trump will hire China too build his wall.

Trump you owe everyone an Apology

As a veteran and someone who served our nation for four years on active duty an another 26 years in Research and Development employed by the United States Air Force I find the comments made by Mr. Trump about the Khizr Khan to be repulsive and shows the true side of him.  Mr. Trump needs to formally apologize not only to the Khan family but also to every veteran and every citizen of the United States.

Mr. and Mrs. Kahn lost their son Captain Humayun Khan on June 8th 2004 when a suicide bomber drove his taxi towards hundreds of US solders in Iraq. Captain Kahn ordered his men to “hit the dirt” but he went towards the taxi motioning it to stop.  The bomber prematurely set off his bomb killing Captain Khan and two Iraqi civilians but not the hundreds he was going after.  Captain Khan and his parents are muslin but first they are Americans.

Mr. Trump appears to not understand we are American’s first and our ethic and religious background second. We are a nation that has repeatedly been called a melting pot. He and Mike Pence think they can insult, bully and get their way. It is time for all American’s to reject their policy of hate.

Captain Kahn was buried at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors on June 17, 2004.

His headstone shows the Muslim Crescent and Star just one of the other 62 symbols of faith on headstones at Arlington. The hollowed ground of Arlington is a true melting pot of the United States of America.

Trump Against Indiana

For those of you thinking of voting for Trump you may want to continue reading and think again.

We all know Trump has this fixation against Mexico. Building a wall, to tearing up Nafta.  Now before you tear up Nafta think about this.

The businesses in the State of Indiana exported $4.8 billion in goods to Mexico, making Mexico the Indiana’s second largest export customer.  Are you sure you want to stop the exports.  How many middle class workers will lose their jobs? How many manufacturing jobs will be lost not created as Mr. Trump promises.  BTW- $4.8 billion in sales translates into 120,000 jobs. Are you sure you want these losses.
Never happen – just watch China ship more and more goods to Mexico if Mr. Trump moves to kill Nafta. How many other states would be hurt by a trade war with Mexico?

Then of course who is hurt the most by trade wars – your family is. Higher tariffs mean higher prices at the store, which means less money in the pockets of the American family to buy made in the USA goods that will be even more expensive as US companies buy higher priced parts to build mostly Made in the USA products.

Now his running buddy is proud of all the low cost warehouse jobs he has created in Indiana. As an engineer I can see that even many of these will be in jeopardy in the long run. Why? You see we are a smart nation with a lot of smart engineers and they will be working more and more to kill off the warehouse jobs and replace them with robots. Just look at our car assembly lines. Why do you think Amazon is looking at drones, they are cheaper to ship a package than UPS, Fed Ex or the Post Office. Don’t you think they are also looking at how to get rid of every employee in the warehouse?  You bet they are.

So we should be doing the opposite and instead of demagoguery, we should be pushing for higher education and in the end more research and development to design high-end machinery that we can export to Mexico and China. Mr. Trump only knows to yell and bully, to press on the fears of people instead to trying to fix problems.  Trump’s policies will hurt Indiana a lot.

As an engineer I always look to ways to doing things faster and better. I firmly believe my faster and better can be applied to anything from the assembly line to the County Surveyors Office. The good engineer listens to the workers complaints and then applies technology to fix the complaint. In the long run everyone wins.

Trump and Pence -- and more.

-->
The Guardian a British Newspaper is following the US elections and what they said about Mike Pence is priceless. Here are a few quotes from their July 15th article.

1.     “Indiana governor Mike Pence – has been picked for two reasons: he’s too boring to upstage the boss and, naturally, he’s incredibly rightwing.”
2.     That he’s a lunatic? Yes.
a.     He has signed overtly villainous abortion bills into law.
c.      He’s a so anti-refugee that he blocked the resettlement of Syrian war refugees in Indiana, before attempting to halt federal aid to any refugees who were already in Indiana.

Donald Trump has picked Mike Pence because … Because he’s a colourless nothing in a suit who ostensibly lends stability to Trump’s endless parade of berserk neon theatrics.”

Only a Brit could have written this.

Now this is even better: Something missed by almost all the news media. Why does the Donald say running the country is a real easy job?  Why because in an article by Jason Linkins editor of “Eat The Press” for The Huffington Post on 7/20/2016, he wrote:
Donald Trump Planning To Just Let Mike Pence Run The Country, Apparently Trump plans to saddle his veep with most of the duties of being president. Because why not?

So I have to guess that Donald will only handle the “huge” things and leave the rest to Pence – now that is scary. Here is how this came to light.

Donald Jr. asked a Kasich adviser if Governor Kasich “Did he have any interest in being the most powerful vice president in history?” “When Kasich’s adviser asked how this would be the case, Donald Jr. explained that his father’s vice president would be in charge of domestic and foreign policy.” Pence in charge of domestic and foreign policy? When the advisor asked what Trump would be doing the answer he got was “Making America great again.”

-->

We continue to get our answer that Trump has no idea of what he is doing or what is involved in being President.

Now I know this may have nothing to do with the Job of  Hamilton County Surveyor but maybe it does when you think that these are the same people who picked Trump as the candidate. The same people who supported Pence.  Maybe its time to give people a choice and hopefully they vote for me.

My name is Joe Weingarten and I approve of this message.

A few notes on the current state of politics.

1. AUSTIN, Texas, July 20 (Reuters) - A U.S. appeals court on Wednesday ruled that a Texas law requiring voters to show a government-issued form of photo identification before casting a ballot is discriminatory and violates the U.S. Voting Rights Act.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit also sent the case back to a district court to examine claims by the plaintiffs that the law had a discriminatory purpose.

Is Indiana next? Hopefully the ACLU files suit right away against Indiana law.

2. Urban Outfitters playing (anti-Trump) politics with merchandise?
T-Shirts - “IDK Not Trump Tho”  & “Vote Trump 20NEVER.”

They are also selling a book - “Quotations From Chairman Trump,” which is
“Unfiltered. Unabridged. Unauthorized. Unbelievable.”  I need to go buy this book.

3. New Hampshire state Rep. Al Baldasaro - "Hillary Clinton should be put in the firing line and shot for treason."
What is alarming is that Rep Baldasaro is an advisor to Donald Trump.  Hopefully the Secret Service pays him a visit his statement might be taken as a threat against a “presidential candidate under Federal protection." Of course this kind of talk is just what we need when a few nuts start shooting at police and others.

4. Trump Income Tax a few proposals:
       A. If you make over $3.7 million a year you would have a 19% tax cut. Or about an average cut of $1.9 million for those over this amount but if you’re in the lowest tax bracket you will get a savings of $128.00.  Very fair wouldn’t you say?
       B. Corporate tax rate would drop from 35 percent to 15 percent.  Now if your in the 25% bracket why not incorporate yourself and drop to 15%.
       C. The Trump plan would reduce Federal income by $9.5 trillion over ten years.  Then jump to $15 trillion in the next ten years.

But--- The cuts result in less money going to the Federal Government and the end result is that you have to cut spending. Here are a few areas that would have to cut.
A.     According to the Congressional Budget Office Congress would have to cut spending by 21 percent.
B.     Social Security and Medicare by 41 Percent.  So make sure the over 65 crowd knows about these cuts.
Or no cuts and increase the national debt by 80 percent which in the long run is likely unsustainable.

Do we want to continue this type of government and this type of thinking in Hamilton County, Indiana? It is time we give voters a choice in the 2016 election.

I am running for Hamilton County Surveyor and I approve this message.

Joe Weingarten for Hamilton County Surveyor

Republicans of Hamilton County at war within the County Council and Commissioners.

It is interesting to watch the battle between them and therefore putting the public at risk.  As a result they can’t fund an expansion of the jail or a public safety-training center.

What is very interesting is the dollar amount between what has been proposed and what the projected income is which would result in a deficit spending of  $369,000. Now $369,000 sounds like a lot of money and don’t get me wrong it is, but it is less than ½ of a percent. That includes a lot more than just these two items. What is even worst is that the county has $60 million in reserves and a few of the elected people are fearful of draining these reserves. Give me a break that is exactly what a reserve is for. Is $369,000 a real drain on 60 million or is that a cover story.  I think it is a fake excuse plain and simple.

It is the same at the state level where the worst governor in many years keeps cutting back to save for a rainy day and the sun keeps shining. Ask anyone in DNR about how many conservation officer vacancies exist. Call many state offices and you get a tape-recording because state offices are undermanned.

Back to the county, it is time for the people of this county to realize it is time to stop the one party rule. Don’t believe me go to any Council or Commission meeting and watch in horror. As one item after another is presented by title, seconded and passed. What was that about you ask yourself and on they go on to the next item, read a title, call for a motion, do I hear a second, all in favor. Passed. Next. Read a title, call for a motion, do I hear a second, all in favor. Passed. Next. Do I need to do this again or did you get the picture?

Is this the kind of government you want? I don’t think so. Of course if you believe they will always act in your favor, go for it and ignore what your government is doing.  I don’t think it is what you want.

I am now running for County Surveyor another position that has been held too long by one person and therefore no consideration of the public at large. Almost as if it’s his personal office and no one should run against him. Well its time voters have a choice. I am giving voters a choice and hope they will elect me this fall.

Over the next few months I will be providing information about myself and about the office I am running for.

Joe Weingarten for Hamilton County Surveyor and I fully approve this message.

Political Signs - time to remove

In past elections - the political signs by Democrats in many cases did not have to be removed after Election Day in Fishers. You see the city, town crews used to remove many of them even when they were legally placed even before the election leaving the Republican signs alone unless we would call and complain.

But this year so many Republican signs dot the landscape and no matter where they are they have not been remove by the sign police. Right of ways, full of signs.  So now all you Republican candidates get moving and clear off the signs.  The only exception has been the removal of signs by one candidate of another candidates sign.  Now that the election is over will the sign war go away between the two who placed 1 and 2 in the County Council race or will the special prosecutor continue to investigate.

Maybe I should start a business – sign removal, and sell the metal holders for scrap.  I could make a lot of money based on the number of signs this year.

Another False Story to Inflame People

Today I got this e-mail send to a lot of people with more bashing and no real facts only half a story trying to get people upset.

"This is probably the BEST written essay regarding minimum wage that I have ever seen.

Kudos to the originator of this excellent piece.

Hamburgers... Low military pay was not mentioned in The State Of The Union speech.

Just increasing the minimum wage was ..Hamburgers or Minimum Wage For those fast food employees striking for $15 an hour,
Let’s do some math.  At $15 an hour: Johnny Fry-Boy would make $31,200 annually. An E1 (Private) in the military makes $18,378.
An E5 (Sergeant) with 8 years of service only makes $35,067 annually.

So you're telling me, LaTisha McBurgerflipper, that you deserve as much as those kids getting shot at, deploying for months in hostile environments, and putting their collective butts on the line every day protecting you?

Here's the deal, Baconator, you are working in a job designed for a kid in high school who is learning how to work and earning enough for gas, and hanging out with their equally goofy high school pals. If you have chosen this as your life long profession, you have failed. If you don't want minimum wage, don't have minimum skills.

If you can read this, thank a teacher.

If it's in English, thank a Veteran."

Ok on the surface looks 100%. Now lets take a closer look.

The sender should do some checking. GI - food allowance, housing allowance, medical care, clothing and on and on... and many of these are tax free so you need to add about 25% to the value.

Medical approx $4565
Food allowance $ 4400
Housing  $7200
Tax free benefit $4041.25

Total $38584.25
Also does not include clothing allowance, does not include promotions not many remain E-1 for long. And if they stay in after 20 years can get a good pension.

Flipper - no food allowance, no housing allowance, no medical insurance. After 20 years they may still be making minimum pay and no pension.

So this if far from the best story, it is one of the worst to provide false and misleading information.
