IRS, FBI, and more phone calls.


Today I got have a call from the IRS that I owe $1568.71 in back taxes and I need to sent them a money order right away or they are going to seize my bank account. Go for it.

Then I got a call from the FBI that crime is up in my area and I need to buy an alarm system, just sent them a money order for $700 and their agents will come right away to install it. I went to the dog pound and got a free German Sheppard. Very nice dog and understands the command kill.

Then I got an e-mail that my great uncle in Outer Mongolia pass away and left me 10.3 million dollars. I just need to send a money transfer to an attorney that will represent me in Outer Mongolia to secure my money. This came as a very big surprise to me that I had an Uncle in Outer Mongolia.

The fun just kept coming with another call this time from the county prosecutor’s office that I didn’t pay tickets and need to send the money or they are coming to arrest me. I hope they do it would be good training for my dog.

I also won the Upper Volta Lottery today. Justin Bieber called; as did Jennifer Aniston that I won the contest they are sponsoring on line.

Then the washing machine died – the only real thing to happen today. Time to get out the screwdriver and pliers.

My phone number is on the do not call list. Oh well.

Fishers Tax Payers Robbed


No it was not a stick-up, no guns, knifes etc were used. It was paper and ink and the Town Council that robbed the citizens of Fishers to the tune of one and half a million dollars a year for many years to come.

The ultra-ugly downtown construction is the reason. Lets look at some of the numbers.
The developers are putting $60,850,00 dollars of their money into the projects. Sound like a lot and it is. But the town is putting in even more with no hope of return to equal the amount.
Look at the tax waivers:
Sewers Impact Fees:                        $981,700.00
Road Impact Fees:                         $1,097,210.00
Bridge Impact Fees:                        $84,744.00
Total Fees waived:                         $2,285,654.00
The City will have to pay interest on its debt, which totals $2,61,000.00
So right out of the gate in the first year we lose and this does not include the value of the land the City gave free to the developers.

Next this does not end at the end of the first year but continues year after year and around $1.5 million ever year. So is worth $1.5 million a year for the next 25 years to have this added traffic and ugly projects that use to be the front of Town Hall with its open space and majestic 100 year-old trees. Maybe that is why they are doing this to become more hidden from the public.  This is what happens when you have one group in total power and control of the community.

Is this why the new Mayor has been saying the city government will cost more or is because he and others are giving away money to their pet developers.

Kathy Richardson and the funny Voting Machines


When I heard on election night that Hamilton County was having problems with their voting machines and getting the vote counted, was I surprised? Not in the least. After all in Ham County the election administrator counts her own votes running for election as a state representative. Kathy Richardson is the County Election Administrator and sees nothing wrong in running for office and counting the vote, in running the election, etc.

Sorry Kathy but I see a lot wrong in this. Then again in a state with no ethics I guess you see nothing wrong. You are totally unethical in what you are doing and it is time someone at the Federal level may have a look. Maybe one of these days they will put a tap on your phone. Because I don’t believe you that while in your county office you never make a phone call or work at your desk on state business. You have a sweet deal while the House in session; the county give you extended leave to do your other job.  I see this as also being unethical on the part of other elected people in county government. Maybe we don’t need an election administrator if you don’t have to be on the job for months at a time.

Then again why did your great voting machines with no paper trail fail? Have you been playing with the programming? Too bad we don’t have anyone who wants to investigate.

Is Congressman Todd Rokita totally out to lunch?


Is Congressman Todd Rokita totally out to lunch? I think so. Yet the Indiana citizens who vote Republican over and over again pay no attention any of the issues. Their firm belief that Democrats will take away their guns is all that matters and his A rating from the NRA is his ticket to winning. But Republicans how can you vote for a guy who is this dumb. Congressman Rokita believes that global warming is a fraud. For all you farmers, after all his is a farm district. with massive changes in weather patterns what are you going to do to grow anything. Every thing is changing.

So when he promised to vote against any Global Warming legislation he had his head in the sand. Of course who cares if New York City and Washington DC go under water in the future.  Of course he will say anything to get elected. On November 2, 2014 at a major UN Conference on the subject: "Science has spoken. There is no ambiguity in their message. Leaders must act. Time is not on our side," U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said at the report's launch in Copenhagen. Oh I forgot the UN is not respected in Indiana it is considered an affront to the Hoosier way of life. The UN wants to take away your guns. (BTW- another fake story pushed on Hoosiers to keep them voting for the nuts.)

Is the funny looking light bulbs is another plot to take away your right to bear arms? I wonder what he would say about them.

So when you grandchildren get ready to take over the family farm, will there be a family farm? Maybe not by the time your grandchildren are ready but by the time their grandchildren are ready we will be in trouble unless we do something. Keep electing head in the sand Congressmen and the farm will be gone.

Why you Indiana Republicans should vote for a few Democrats


Here are a few races where voting for a Democrat would result in better government and would not change what you believe in. But would increase honesty in government and actually improve the role of government in your lives.

Tight now you Republicans have full control and in some cases no one voices opposition which can lead to corruption and bad government.

Eric Tuner is a case in point. The man using his influence in the Indiana House made millions of dollars on his family business. And now when caught with his hand in the cookie jar (actually not only one hand but both and up to his shoulder) he has the gall to tell people to vote for him and he will resign and let a few party people pick his replacement. What if after he gets elected he changes his mind and stays in office or he does resign and a hand full of people pick his replacement, not the voters. So I urge you Republicans to sent a message to your party, we are the people, and we will not stand for corrupt people in politics. It is time to vote for Bob Ashley.

Now to my hometown of Fishers, Indiana where last year the voters rejected the town’s effort to trick the voters into a fake city. The town leaders who had predicted an 80 percent landslide for their fake city, by 9pm on Election Day they found a 70% landslide against them and the formation of a real city. Talk about a shock. Now a year later they have already selected a Mayor in the primary and are consolidating power to take over the new city. The new Mayor is even telling people privately the city will cost more money. Year ago Gary Huff, town manager, said a new city would not cost any more. The theme a year ago was “Don’t be Tricked” well it could be used again this year. Four Democrats are running for office and electing anyone of them would cause the click to be broken and better government. It is pretty much well known that the deals are made by the Fishers Council upstairs in private and the meetings in front of the public are a sham. If you elect a Democrat the private deals would stop. The government would be more open. Now I want to tell you about one council race that would result in fireworks at city hall. If Greg Purvis were elected we can watch Pete Peterson and Greg battle it out in public all the time. What is very interesting is that Tea Party members this weekend are going door to door in his district asking Republicans to vote for Greg. Why? Because they feel he more of a fiscal conservative than any of the current incumbents.  I agree.  The amount of tax dollars being given to private developers is crazy. Of course these developers and contractors are the same ones donating money to their political campaigns. This is going to be your city not the developer’s city. Vote for Greg Purvis. Enjoy fireworks at the Council meetings; make the City government more honest.

I want to tell you about the statewide races.

Why should you vote for the three Dems running for the statewide offices? Are you sure you want government with no checks and balances? I know I don’t. The governor has clearly shown he only cares about one thing, trying to move up the ladder. Excuse me he has also shown he doesn’t care one bit about education or improving the lives of Hoosiers. If he did he would work with Ms Ritz instead to trying to kill off education in this state. One factor that many voters don’t know is that the Governor along with the Auditor and Treasurer can move money and programs without the consent of the House and Senate.  So they can do as they please without any regard to what the state budget says. If they want to strip the Department of Natural Recourses to zero they could. Are you sure you want that type of government. Sounds more like Putin style government.

Beth White vs. Appointed Connie Lawson.  Clearly Beth knows a lot more about voter’s rights and running this type office than Connie. Even Republican Charlie White (no relation to Beth) has made very nasty comments about Lawson. So if you want to protect your right to vote, vote for Beth White.


Democrat Mike Claytor will challenge Republican Suzanne Crouch for auditor. Claytor would be the first CPA to run for this office. Isn’t time we had a professional in this office rather than someone who thinks red glasses are the most important factor in a race.

Democrat Mike Boland and Republican Kelly Mitchell are running for the Treasurers office. Ms, Mitchell was hand picked by Richard Mourdock who was an embarrassment to this state. She was one of his staffers. On the other hand Mike was an elected official for 16 years and headed a finance committee. Mike has also stated he will donate his salary to various Hoosier charities.  Clearly Mike cares about the people of this state.

If both Mikes get elected Gov. (who thinks he can become President) no longer will be able to move state money around at will. Instead your elected officials in the House and Senate will determine a budget.

So if you are a die-hard Republican but want to see better government here is your chance to clean up Indiana. You can vote what is beat for the state, vote to stop the real fraud that is costing your millions. Vote to add real checks and balances to the system. Don’t forget when you walk into that voting booth no one is looking over your shoulder.

OMG - It didn't happen in Indiana this time.

Would you even consider suggestion that the US Military overthrow the US Government?

I didn't think so, but a Republican office holder in the Great State of Missouri did just that.

Republican Debbie Dunnegan Waters, Jefferson County, Missouri Recorder of Deeds did just that, here is what she posted on facebook:


"I have a question for all my friends who have served or are currently serving in our military ... having not put on a uniform nor taken any type military oath, there has to be something that I am just not aware of. But I cannot and do not understand why no action is being taken against our domestic enemy. I know he is supposedly the commander in chief, but the constitution gives you the authority. What am I missing? Thank you for your bravery and may God keep you safe."


Well  Ms. Dunnegan for your information here are the three military oaths, first is the 

Enlistment Oath.— Each person enlisting in an armed force shall take the following oath:
"I, (state name of enlistee), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."

Second is the oath taken by all Commissioned Officers who are commissioned under the authority of the President of the United States with the advice and consent of the United States Senate:

I, [name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. Third is that of Officers of the National Guard of the various States, however, take an additional oath:

I, [name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State (Commonwealth, District, Territory) of ___ against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the Governor of the State (Commonwealth, District, Territory) of ___, that I make this obligation freely, without any mental reservations or purpose of evasion, and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the Office of [grade] in the Army/Air National Guard of the State (Commonwealth, District, Territory) of ___ upon which I am about to enter, so help me God.

Fishers Town/City Council wants a 400% raise.


Sunday October 5, 2014 the Indianapolis Star on page 8 had an article “Council considers salary increases.

The current Town Council members make $12,000 a year and considering how much work they do, they are already overpaid. After all dragging the town downhill by creating an ugly downtown, and now using an excuse they need to raise pay because the Town is becoming a City. Of course others are higher and Fishers should not be lower, we have an image to uphold. The average total compensation for a city in Ham County is $49,589 according to the article. Of course Carmel is highest with $50,358. Based on Fishers Carmel envy I can see the Council voting themselves a raise to $50,357 and claiming we are not as high as Carmel.

Indy’s Council is paid $11,000 and has a total compensation of $12,565.  I think Fishers should cut their pay to $11,000 a year and throw in the benefits just like Indy for a total of $12,565 anything else is a shame.

BTW- I can’t believe this but for the first time in my life I agree with Stuart Easley who is opposed to the pay hike.

Now I know 70% of the citizens of Fishers are Republicans and to a great extent vote straight R. But are you sure you want to do this again and again. So far the R members on the Council have not been true R’s. They have been giving out large sums of taxpayer money to private companies, such as all the downtown development with a negative payback over 20 years. They give tax breaks to business left and right. Why? They created Fishers Launch at the Library and the real result has been a massive cut back to the citizens of the area in Library services.  Should a Republican government take on the development of business at the expense of the citizens it serves and again using tax dollars? Remember the Library was build with your tax dollars. I guess so. Oh if the Launch was such a great idea wouldn’t a commercial company rent out space. Don’t we have enough empty commercial space for Launch Fishers?

It seems that you Republicans should elect a few if not all the Democrats to the Fishers Council. If nothing else many of these games the current Council is playing would stop, the hidden deals will no longer be hidden. Tax breaks to business would not be announced after the fact but be out in the open before they happen so you can say something. 

This proposed salary increase shows that total lack of respect for the citizens and voters of Fishers. It is time to another change. Now is the time to bring a few people to the Council that care about you. Please think before you just vote for the incumbents.

Sometimes Technology forgets the customer



My wife and I upgraded our iPhones to the new OS8 software and it has been nothing but a pain in the rear end. This has got to be the worst upgrade I have ever seen with Apple. Just read many of the comments on many of the various web sites. BTW- when I shut off Wi-Fi many of the problems went away. So if you have an iPhone and have upgraded it and it is doing very strange things shut off your Wi-Fi. But having to spend hours re-configuring sounds etc is out and out dumb. It is almost as if you lost your phone and have to start over with a new one and in many cases your old data, well you forgot to back it up.

But then if you have an iPad beware they do even stranger things. Just read all the postings on various web sites and not the Apple ones. What may be the real problem is that Apple never tested the new software against all the various applications under the old operating system and new conflicts have popped up causing all of these problems.

This is a clear case of where a few engineers and designers at Apple believe that they know what you the customer wants and they know what is best for you. Under Apple vale of secret they don’t ask anyone. They live in their glass box with one-way glass the plot on what you want, even if you don’t want it.

Sort of like the politicians here in Indiana.

Sorry I wish I could continue but I have to go and see why Siri keeps calling out my name.

Two new SCAMS


Just another day but with two scams, the first some of you will think it is very real. But, to me it is another scam. Our talking head Indiana Governor was the subject of a headline newspaper article that he is testing the national waters. No chance whatsoever, but he must think he has. Actually I think he is running for Vice President but making believe he wants to be the big boss. Maybe instead he should come out to Geist and test our toxic water. Maybe he should test the water of rivers and streams hear his coal fired power plants before he wants to test the national waters. So far he has shown no leadership, rather a do nothing so he can’t screw up style of government. Based on the record of the Indiana House and Senate maybe that is a good idea.

The second scam came via the old fashion landline. “This is an important message from the IRS…”  You owe taxes and unless you pay immediately you will be arrested and taken before a US Magistrate and fined triple the amount you owe… Call 215-… right now to get instructions on payment. “Do not ignore this important call, you will go to jail.”

I was laughing so hard at the Pakistan accent my wife was looking at me in wonderment. Next step was to report the call to the FTC. Hopefully they catch these people soon. Don’t forget the IRS never calls they just sent nasty letters via snail mail.

Fishers Town Council Ture to Form Once Again


I am glad to see that the Fishers Town Council has not waivered from its policy not to listen to the Citizens of the Town of Fishers.  I was fearfully for a moment that the Council might change, but thank god they didn’t.

Recently they asked citizens to name a new park that they are building at a cost of $3.5 million. They got 72 suggested names and you would think they might have listened and maybe just maybe picked one. But true to form the Council once again didn’t listen and came up with there own one.  Thank goodness I was worried for a while. This continues a proud tradition of ignoring the citizens of the Town soon to become a City and only a City because the town folk were allowed to vote otherwise the town government would still be around.  So the ugly apartments and garage replace the beautiful treed entrance to Town Hall, the train station is being torn down to make way for more ugly structures, etc.

What can you do, this fall vote for every non-incumbent no matter what party they are, no matter what their policies are. It is time to shake up the ruling class that always knows what is best for everyone and therefore never listens; oh I forgot they do listen if you are a developer with big bucks.

Fishers you have got to be kidding? Givng away $34 milllion.


The Fishers Town Council and Mayor elect Scott Fadness has become a pot of gold for area developers. According to the Star on Sunday June 29 a list of Fishers developments also had how much money the Council is giving away to various developers for each project. One of the items didn’t have a dollar sign next to it yet but assuming it will be over two hundred thousand, it would bring the total Christmas gifts to 34 million dollars. That’s right 34 million dollars. You read correctly 34 million dollars or almost ½ of the entire year budget.

Have these people gone crazy? Are they trying to outdo Carmel? Of course they always have had Carmel envy. But it is money of the citizens of the town soon to be a city. This is what happens when you have one party in total control of government. They stop listening or for that matter caring.

If you live in Fishers it has become even more important to elect a member of the opposition to office. That way all these secret deals wouldn’t happen. I know this is hard for many of you die hard Republicans to do or think about. But thinking that your elected officials are following the Regan concepts is far form real. When it comes to giving away money to developers Democrats ask why? Then they say no.

Instead of following blindly think about it this fall.

Mourdock refuses to let facts get in the way of ideology

Richard Mourdock is leaving his position as Treasurer of the State of Indian due to term limits, but he has hand picked his replacement. It is time for the people of this state to reject his ideology and his hand picked replacement.

It is time for new leadership in the office of Treasurer - Vote for Mike Boland for Indiana Treasurer in November 2014.

Do you realize how many potholes I had to dodge to prevent damage  to my car?

It is not easy  to drive here, Indy need to be renamed from the 500 to dodge city.

How is your cruiser? How is your alignment?

Walk a straight line, touch your nose, OK you can go , but stop weaving.

How about telling the Mayor instead of Cricket, he should get a shovel and patch some holes?

Fishers Firemen SHAME on you.


Citizens of Fishers, you are being used by the Firemen in the recent election, they didn’t care one bit about the quality of the candidates, about the position of the candidate relative to the long term good for the community. They cared only about one thing, which candidates would support a pay raise for them, which candidates would provide money.

One of the questions that was asked in the endorsement process was exactly that, if they would support a pay raise next year. Endorsements were based on these simple factors.

To make matter worst they imported help to man the polling places on primary day. Why did we have firemen from Carmel and Cicero handing out their endorsement papers to citizens of Fishers. I overheard one fireman when he came to do his turn at the poll say to the one who was leaving “How is our pay raise coming.?”

The end result is that we no longer should pay any attention to the fire union and who they endorse. They have proven they are just another union looking out for their members only and working to elect candidate who have promised payback for the endorsement. Not for the community they serve.

Fisher Fire Union and firemen shame on you.

Another Republican that shouldn't hold any office.


REPUBLICAN or should I say Repugnant State Senator Stacy Campfield of Knoxville, Tennessee posted on May 5th his “Thought of the Day”:

 “Democrats bragging about the number of mandatory sign ups for Obamacare is like Germans bragging about the number of manditory [sic] sign ups for ‘train rides’ for Jews in the 40s."

Mr. Campfield you owe my grandparents an apology, you see they were "transported east" in 1942 to Riga, Latvia and then along with about 3,740 German, Austrian, and Czech Jews were taken to mass graves in the woods north of Riga and machine gunned to death. Mr. Campfield they didn't board that train willingly they were taken to it, put in a cattle car and shipped in the dead of winter to Riga, when they arrived they were marched to Jungfernhof concentration camp and about a month later marched into the woods.
Actually I think you owe 6 million people an apology. Unfortunately they can't hear you.


BTW- even the Republican leadership in Tennessee could take his latest outrageous and insensitive statements. The GOP state chairman’s statement deserves to be read in its entirely:

    "While Stacey Campfield routinely makes remarks that are over the top, today's comments are ignorant and repugnant. No political or policy disagreement should ever be compared to the suffering endured by an entire generation of people. Those comments have no place in our public discourse. He should offer an apology to members of the Jewish faith immediately."

This man needs to be driven out of office and hopefully someone in the State of Tennessee will take him on in the next election.

It is a pretty sad day for the people of Fishers and Hamilton County when you view many of the candidates for this year’s election. Here is my favorite a race for Judge with one candidate that has a flyer with a fake family, fake well maybe but when the Judge has one woman and three children next to him it becomes a fake family. Now he claims he wanted to show the type of people he would serve, well then he should have had 20 children in his photo not three and those three were borrowed from other judges families. So I would say his opposition Judge Hughes would be a better choice.


Mayor – The race has come down to two candidates Kelly and Fadness, if you are planning to vote for any of the others you are throwing away your vote. What brothers me the most about this race is that Mr. Fadness is bought and paid for by all the big time developers, and law firms. If elected Mayor who will he favor, citizens or developers, based on what has happened in from of Town Hall the answer is pretty clear. I can’t think of a city that would not want beautiful green space in front of their town hall, can you? The to give millions in taxpayer money to these developers is a sin pure and simple any other statement is false. If this had been such a great idea whose time had come why did they pay off the developers with tax money? Why is it that every time you turn around on business development do they give them tax breaks? If Fadness get elected we would continued to see this crazy miss matched growth, tax breaks for developers etc, the real impact will be on our school system.  Another school referendum is coming, so instead of business paying taxes it’s you and I. 


Mr. Kelly would be the best Mayor out of this bunch. First he is not bought and paid for by anyone. The contributions to his race came from people. That to me is an important factor. Next I truly believe he cares a lot more about the community than does Mr. Fadness. Also lets look at his age and experience. At 69 if he wins and then runs again next year and wins the election after that he will be 74 and should retire. That gives us the chance by then to have other prove them selves in city government and have someone else run for Mayor. If Fadness gets in I fear he might be around for 20 years. Not good for a city government.  So I urge you to vote for Kelly.


The next big race is for Fall Creek Trustee. I do not understand why Mr. Jeff Hern is even running. During the City yes or no vote, Mr. Hern wanted to merge the Township with the Town and get rid of it. His reward was he would be appointed to the new City Council and maybe he thought he could be appointed Mayor in the funny city they proposed. So here we have someone who wants to shut down the Township and now claims it is the greatest thing since sliced bread and vote for me. When he took office he sold off two new donated freezers to his employees for $100 because they didn’t need them etc, now the food bank is so important etc. The use of the community building by the public has drastically been reduced. Did I say “community building” or is this something he has forgotten. But one of the worst things he has done is trying to use tax dollars to buy voting endorsements. He wanted to give the Town of Fishers $300,000 for fixing up the fire station at Brooks School road. The Town already had the money set aside, or a stunt to get the endorsement of the Fireman’s Union. It worked. Now he is telling voters he is going to build another fire station out near Cyntheanne Road, well according the Fishers Fire Chief that will be talked about in 2018 and might be in the 2019 budget. But to listen to Mr. Hern it is just around the corner. Tisk, Tisk. 


On the other hand we have Mr. Doug Allman who for three years in a row on the Township Board pushed to get a tanker truck for the Fire Department to help in areas that do not have fire hydrants and have it stationed in this area, not very glamorous but very much needed. He also proposed and voted for tax cuts three years in a row, while Hern claims he got the tax cuts, ask him how he voted, as Trustee you don’t vote. Another Hern claim out the window. Mr. Allman was also the Chairman of City Yes and let the fight to allow people to have the right to vote for a Mayor. That alone should be enough to pick him over Mr. Hern for Trustee. I would have to say I “Trust” Mr. Allman a lot more to be Trustee.


One of the bad things about local elections in this area is no media. It is very hard to find out what is really going on.  So some of the candidates with lots of money have big signs. So you need to check where the money came from for the big signs, developers of course. So I would not vote for anyone who is currently sitting on the town council of purchased big signs. The current council members are all hypocrites.  They endorsed the reorganized city and wanted to take away your right to vote now they want to be part of the city. Shame on them. Then we have Block and Coble both paid for by developers.  Another bad sign is David George and his money from the Royal Tiger PAC that appeared to have gotten money form developers in exchange for advance information on what is going on in the town.  I would hope the people bring Bill Brown to the new council instead of Mr. George. Stuart Easley and the Kroger Plaza Sign - interesting.


Do you know where the Kroger Plaza is located? I would expect if I asked 100 people who live in Fishers, 1 might know the answer. OK it’s at 116th Street and Olio and located in the Kroger Plaza is a Kroger store, not just any Kroger but one that they want to expand into a mega store (Kroger Marketplace). So they went before the Town Council and were sort of turned down. They tabled the request. In fact one council member Stuart Easley said: “For me, it was dead upon proposal.”

This brings up a very interesting question? Mr. Easley who is running for re-election now has a rather large political sign on Olio Road in the Kroger Plaza. Did he work a deal for permission to elect that sign on Kroger Plaza? This becomes an interesting ethical question about the location and his actions. Mr. Easley are you willing to sign a pledge that no matter what this will always remain a dead deal for you, that you would never vote to approve this build out?

By the way – the Town Planning Department every election sends out a letter to all candidates about placement of signs. The standard letter came out as usual. Then all of sudden a second letter reminding candidate about placement of signs on private property and that you need permission of the property owner. I wonder did Mr. Easley whose signs are popping up on private property have anything to do with the second letter. Can’t have someone else’s sign near his Mega Signs.  Let’s not forget Mr. Easley was one of the Town Council Members who said vote yes for the Fake City and appointed Mayor. Now he wants to be a real City Council Member.

HJR-3 doomed before any vote


“Many Michigan residents have religious convictions whose principles govern the conduct of their daily lives and inform their own viewpoints about marriage,” this was written by U.S. District Judge Bernard Friedman, on March 21, 2014, in his decision as he struck down Michigan’s Gay-Marriage ban. Change one word in this statement – Michigan to Indiana and this is exactly what is going to happen here after the tax payers of this state waste millions of dollars to defend the state’s gay-marriage ban and its maybe new constitutional amendment. 

If the amendment were put to a vote I am fairly certain it would pass in this conservative state. But it would not survive any challenge in the courts. It fly’s directly into the equal protection clause under the law. It comes down too that the views of one group of people cannot be applied to all. It is a religious view and we are a nation of religious freedom, no religion can apply its conviction on everyone.

Indiana lawmakers knew full well the constitutional amendment banning same sex marriage will be struck down. They passed it for one reason too look good for the voters at home. Shame on them for not doing the right thing. Shame on them for not explaining to their voters what is the law of the land and how it protects them to have religious views and how those views cannot become law.

Federal judges have struck down marriage bans in Utah, Ohio, Oklahoma, Kentucky, Virginia, Texas, Illinois, Tennessee and now Michigan. Indiana will soon be added to this list.

Noblesville vs Fishers on Development

Noblesville just won the March madness of development with bagging Cabelas versus Fishers building an apartment building and office building in the “downtown.”  Shows the lack of forward thinking on the part of the town’s manager and the council. They are so busy trying to cause more traffic jams on 113th street they can’t see what they should be going after. The wide-open space between Wal-Mart and Sallie Mae would have been perfect for this store, especially when considering the proposal for an exit off the interstate at 104th street. That would have been right at the store. But I am certain Cabelas still has a bad taste from the last time they approach Fishers six years ago. Maybe Mr. Easley would like to fill in the citizens of the town on how he and the then Council stopped that development. But then again he is running for re-election and maybe he would rather not talk about it.

 

Maybe the current Town Manager and candidate would like to fill us in on how the new City of Fishers missed out on this one. Hint to the town development people who seems to be asleep or work deals only with their buddies. Have you ever heard of a store called Ikea, maybe they would like the wide-open space between Walmart and Sallie Mae since it is still available. Ikea’s phone number is +31 (0)15 215 3815. Remember you will need someone who speaks Swedish.

 

I also have to wonder about light bulbs. We heard a lot about a new company coming to town to make high tech light bulbs and fill the old Diamond nut factory. Well a friend went to apply for a job and was told they were not hiring, were not going to make light bulbs and instead were a sign company. Now not sure my friend walk into the correct door, but is certain he did, so is VoxLumen another false start up within Fishers. Maybe we need someone to shed some light on this subject.

New Fishers Town Council, same as old.


I am so glad to see the new Fishers Town Council is the exact same as the old Fishers Town Council with a few new members. The behind the doors deals continued, the non-bid contracts continue.

I worked for the Federal Government for 30 years, I learned a long time ago sometimes you have to do things to be on the up and up even if it takes a little longer. Even when I knew what the outcome was going to be I would not side step the procedure to get to the answer faster. It just was not right.

Lets look at the crazy downtown development. Lets look at the misleading statements and misguided approach by the Town Council and the Town Manager.

The overall downtown development was shown to the public. When at 8 am on a weekday and once. Why wasn’t it taken to the people? Instead of at Town Hall only, why wasn’t it truly explained. What expect the public to understand?

How come the Town has given away land for these developments and tax dollars to the developers. Then make statements that the land is so valuable. If the land was so valuable why was it given away.

Fishers Council makes a big deal about open space and parks, so they put these monster apartment buildings in front of Town Hall on the only green space in the downtown. Oh excuse me “luxury apartments with retail” while at the same time on the other side of  116th street we have a beautiful used car lot. Of course the owner of the beautiful used car lot comes out in support of the apartments and he lives in the unincorporated area. Not even a citizen of the town. He just wants the value of the land of his car lot to increase. Can’t blame him, but the Town Council could change the zoning and have forced the sale for apartments.

Have you been in front of Town Hall between 5 and 6 pm in the extended parking lot called a street. Between these apartments and the other big complex being built at Cumberland and 116th traffic will be wonderful. Just think of all the time you will have in your car going home.

BTW- this is the same Town Council members and City Manager who did not want all of you from voting for a real city. So they have to get all this done before a Mayor and a real city come into being. Maybe that is why we having all the secret closed door deals. Maybe we need to elect new people who believe in an open door and real public input.

So I am glad to see nothing has changed, the government of Fishers still could care less about the people, only their developer friends.

Political Graveyard - Scott Faultless

Scott Faultless finally learns what politics is all about. He will be soon gone from Fishers town government. The end came at noon on Friday February 7th when he failed to file to ruin for elected office. The actual end December 31, 2014.

Scott who had been in office for years and years without opposition is finally gone for not paying attention to voters and ruling as if Fishers was his own private country club.

His end started with the Geist Annexation. Here he lead the Fishers Town Council to land grab 2200 homes in the upscale area without any increase in service and only an increase in taxes. This was a pure taxing increase issue and the people of Geist never forgot. The battle lasted three long years wasting two million town dollars.

Next came the refusal of the Town to convert to a city because of the structure of the election process. With a Town the Council elects one of its own to be the figurehead and Scott held this position year after year. In a real city the people elect a Mayor, this of course was unheard of to Scott. Further all the council seats were elected at large across the entire town giving an incumbent a major edge. In a real city voters in a district elect council members from that district with a few at large seats also being elected. They tried everything to stop becoming a real city even proposing a fake city that would be a town structure of government but called a city and then an election process designed to trick voters into this fake city. Because of a group of civil minded citizens and a real grassroots effort they got the real message to the voters and defeated Scott and crew by 63%. In today’s political arena 63% is considered a massive landslide. Another consideration is the Scott crew outspend the grassroots group by 10 to 1 and even used town money for “education” of the public.

 In the last Town election Scott was almost defeated by an unknown college kid and by voters from the Geist area, what saved him were the older parts of town. Now in a Geist district he knew he could not get elected. Running at large for the limited seats would mean that he actually had to run in an election and put on a real campaign.

 In addition to add insult to injury a few of the new council members refused to support Scott to remain as Council President another defeat for him. The tide of his rule had turned and it was time to retire.

 The time had come to withdraw from Fishers politics. Good-bye Scott. In the long run we the people won.

An open letter to Brian Bosma on Marriage HJR-3

Dear Mr. Bosma Mr. Bosma I am little mixed up by your actions to bring to the State House the question of marriage in the State of Indiana, it appears what you are doing and the other elected officials is a total waste of time and money. It is pandering to the religious right and not viewing what is best for the state. I have a few points I want you to consider. In 1620 a group of about 100 people set sail from England on a ship called the Mayflower. They were seeking religious freedom in the new world. This concept of religious freedom was ingrained by our founding fathers in one sentence: "Congress shall make no law respecting and establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." This statement is two fold; first it builds a wall where the any church is protected from government control. This wall, also has a second wall, it protects the citizen from the religion being applied to the population. In 1992 the Supreme Court stated: "At the heart of liberty is the right to define one’s own concept of existence, of meaning, of the universe, and of the mystery of human life. Yet today we have a group of religious people trying to exert their will on the people of this state. I keep reading in the press how their bible says this and how they define marriage. Isn’t this exerting their religious will and belief on everyone else? Even within the framework of different religions we read different opinions on this subject. So why are you pushing for this amendment that is a religious view and even one not accepted by all of our religious leaders. Are you to afraid to stand up against a group of well meaning people who may have the wrong approach or concept? It appears you are. As Republican you are always claiming the need for "more freedom" and “less government interference” yet here is a law they want to pass that removes a freedom from people and freedom of choice. Another Republican fight "is waste of taxpayer money." Well this is going to be a very big waste in the long run. If passed this will go to the courts. Based on what is happening in other states the odds are it will be struck down and the state will spend millions on defending this law and the odds are only to lose in the end. So isn’t time to let this die.

Hidden Snow Tax in Fishers

This snowfall reminds me of the hidden tax and incompetence of the Fishers Town Government. First what do I mean by hidden tax, we all know Fishers claims to have the lowest property tax rate, which is not true in any case, but the reason is a lack of services that we as home owners have to make up. Look at snow removal as a prime example. How many of you live in sub-divisions and have to hire contractors to plow your streets. I see almost all of you, just like mine. This is not free, it costs money and that money is a hidden tax. Snow removal on town streets should be a government function and not a homeowner function. So if your sub-division is paying someone to clear the streets lets all send them the bills we get to the Town and demand payment for doing their job. Incompetence of Fishers government administration. The Town entered into a contact with the school district to clear snow from school parking lots. Contractors had done a job that previously. So instead of clearing streets the town crews are busy clearing parking lots. I want to know what kind of secret deal they worked out. What I find even funnier is that a group of all Republican elected officials, who rally against big government and demand government jobs go to the private sector, are doing the exact opposite in Fishers.
