Is Congressman Todd Rokita totally out to lunch?

Is Congressman Todd Rokita totally out to lunch? I think so. Yet the Indiana citizens who vote Republican over and over again pay no attention any of the issues. Their firm belief that Democrats will take away their guns is all that matters and his A rating from the NRA is his ticket to winning. But Republicans how can you vote for a guy who is this dumb. Congressman Rokita believes that global warming is a fraud. For all you farmers, after all his is a farm district. with massive changes in weather patterns what are you going to do to grow anything. Every thing is changing.

So when he promised to vote against any Global Warming legislation he had his head in the sand. Of course who cares if New York City and Washington DC go under water in the future.  Of course he will say anything to get elected. On November 2, 2014 at a major UN Conference on the subject: "Science has spoken. There is no ambiguity in their message. Leaders must act. Time is not on our side," U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said at the report's launch in Copenhagen. Oh I forgot the UN is not respected in Indiana it is considered an affront to the Hoosier way of life. The UN wants to take away your guns. (BTW- another fake story pushed on Hoosiers to keep them voting for the nuts.)

Is the funny looking light bulbs is another plot to take away your right to bear arms? I wonder what he would say about them.

So when you grandchildren get ready to take over the family farm, will there be a family farm? Maybe not by the time your grandchildren are ready but by the time their grandchildren are ready we will be in trouble unless we do something. Keep electing head in the sand Congressmen and the farm will be gone.

Why you Indiana Republicans should vote for a few Democrats

Here are a few races where voting for a Democrat would result in better government and would not change what you believe in. But would increase honesty in government and actually improve the role of government in your lives.

Tight now you Republicans have full control and in some cases no one voices opposition which can lead to corruption and bad government.

Eric Tuner is a case in point. The man using his influence in the Indiana House made millions of dollars on his family business. And now when caught with his hand in the cookie jar (actually not only one hand but both and up to his shoulder) he has the gall to tell people to vote for him and he will resign and let a few party people pick his replacement. What if after he gets elected he changes his mind and stays in office or he does resign and a hand full of people pick his replacement, not the voters. So I urge you Republicans to sent a message to your party, we are the people, and we will not stand for corrupt people in politics. It is time to vote for Bob Ashley.

Now to my hometown of Fishers, Indiana where last year the voters rejected the town’s effort to trick the voters into a fake city. The town leaders who had predicted an 80 percent landslide for their fake city, by 9pm on Election Day they found a 70% landslide against them and the formation of a real city. Talk about a shock. Now a year later they have already selected a Mayor in the primary and are consolidating power to take over the new city. The new Mayor is even telling people privately the city will cost more money. Year ago Gary Huff, town manager, said a new city would not cost any more. The theme a year ago was “Don’t be Tricked” well it could be used again this year. Four Democrats are running for office and electing anyone of them would cause the click to be broken and better government. It is pretty much well known that the deals are made by the Fishers Council upstairs in private and the meetings in front of the public are a sham. If you elect a Democrat the private deals would stop. The government would be more open. Now I want to tell you about one council race that would result in fireworks at city hall. If Greg Purvis were elected we can watch Pete Peterson and Greg battle it out in public all the time. What is very interesting is that Tea Party members this weekend are going door to door in his district asking Republicans to vote for Greg. Why? Because they feel he more of a fiscal conservative than any of the current incumbents.  I agree.  The amount of tax dollars being given to private developers is crazy. Of course these developers and contractors are the same ones donating money to their political campaigns. This is going to be your city not the developer’s city. Vote for Greg Purvis. Enjoy fireworks at the Council meetings; make the City government more honest.

I want to tell you about the statewide races.

Why should you vote for the three Dems running for the statewide offices? Are you sure you want government with no checks and balances? I know I don’t. The governor has clearly shown he only cares about one thing, trying to move up the ladder. Excuse me he has also shown he doesn’t care one bit about education or improving the lives of Hoosiers. If he did he would work with Ms Ritz instead to trying to kill off education in this state. One factor that many voters don’t know is that the Governor along with the Auditor and Treasurer can move money and programs without the consent of the House and Senate.  So they can do as they please without any regard to what the state budget says. If they want to strip the Department of Natural Recourses to zero they could. Are you sure you want that type of government. Sounds more like Putin style government.

Beth White vs. Appointed Connie Lawson.  Clearly Beth knows a lot more about voter’s rights and running this type office than Connie. Even Republican Charlie White (no relation to Beth) has made very nasty comments about Lawson. So if you want to protect your right to vote, vote for Beth White.

Democrat Mike Claytor will challenge Republican Suzanne Crouch for auditor. Claytor would be the first CPA to run for this office. Isn’t time we had a professional in this office rather than someone who thinks red glasses are the most important factor in a race.

Democrat Mike Boland and Republican Kelly Mitchell are running for the Treasurers office. Ms, Mitchell was hand picked by Richard Mourdock who was an embarrassment to this state. She was one of his staffers. On the other hand Mike was an elected official for 16 years and headed a finance committee. Mike has also stated he will donate his salary to various Hoosier charities.  Clearly Mike cares about the people of this state.

If both Mikes get elected Gov. (who thinks he can become President) no longer will be able to move state money around at will. Instead your elected officials in the House and Senate will determine a budget.

So if you are a die-hard Republican but want to see better government here is your chance to clean up Indiana. You can vote what is beat for the state, vote to stop the real fraud that is costing your millions. Vote to add real checks and balances to the system. Don’t forget when you walk into that voting booth no one is looking over your shoulder.

OMG - It didn't happen in Indiana this time.

Would you even consider suggestion that the US Military overthrow the US Government?

I didn't think so, but a Republican office holder in the Great State of Missouri did just that.

Republican Debbie Dunnegan Waters, Jefferson County, Missouri Recorder of Deeds did just that, here is what she posted on facebook:

"I have a question for all my friends who have served or are currently serving in our military ... having not put on a uniform nor taken any type military oath, there has to be something that I am just not aware of. But I cannot and do not understand why no action is being taken against our domestic enemy. I know he is supposedly the commander in chief, but the constitution gives you the authority. What am I missing? Thank you for your bravery and may God keep you safe."

Well  Ms. Dunnegan for your information here are the three military oaths, first is the

Enlistment Oath.— Each person enlisting in an armed force shall take the following oath:
"I, (state name of enlistee), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."

Second is the oath taken by all Commissioned Officers who are commissioned under the authority of the President of the United States with the advice and consent of the United States Senate:

I, [name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.

Third is that of Officers of the National Guard of the various States, however, take an additional oath:

I, [name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State (Commonwealth, District, Territory) of ___ against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the Governor of the State (Commonwealth, District, Territory) of ___, that I make this obligation freely, without any mental reservations or purpose of evasion, and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the Office of [grade] in the Army/Air National Guard of the State (Commonwealth, District, Territory) of ___ upon which I am about to enter, so help me God.

Fishers Town/City Council wants a 400% raise.

Sunday October 5, 2014 the Indianapolis Star on page 8 had an article “Council considers salary increases.

The current Town Council members make $12,000 a year and considering how much work they do, they are already overpaid. After all dragging the town downhill by creating an ugly downtown, and now using an excuse they need to raise pay because the Town is becoming a City. Of course others are higher and Fishers should not be lower, we have an image to uphold. The average total compensation for a city in Ham County is $49,589 according to the article. Of course Carmel is highest with $50,358. Based on Fishers Carmel envy I can see the Council voting themselves a raise to $50,357 and claiming we are not as high as Carmel.

Indy’s Council is paid $11,000 and has a total compensation of $12,565.  I think Fishers should cut their pay to $11,000 a year and throw in the benefits just like Indy for a total of $12,565 anything else is a shame.

BTW- I can’t believe this but for the first time in my life I agree with Stuart Easley who is opposed to the pay hike.

Now I know 70% of the citizens of Fishers are Republicans and to a great extent vote straight R. But are you sure you want to do this again and again. So far the R members on the Council have not been true R’s. They have been giving out large sums of taxpayer money to private companies, such as all the downtown development with a negative payback over 20 years. They give tax breaks to business left and right. Why? They created Fishers Launch at the Library and the real result has been a massive cut back to the citizens of the area in Library services.  Should a Republican government take on the development of business at the expense of the citizens it serves and again using tax dollars? Remember the Library was build with your tax dollars. I guess so. Oh if the Launch was such a great idea wouldn’t a commercial company rent out space. Don’t we have enough empty commercial space for Launch Fishers?

It seems that you Republicans should elect a few if not all the Democrats to the Fishers Council. If nothing else many of these games the current Council is playing would stop, the hidden deals will no longer be hidden. Tax breaks to business would not be announced after the fact but be out in the open before they happen so you can say something.

This proposed salary increase shows that total lack of respect for the citizens and voters of Fishers. It is time to another change. Now is the time to bring a few people to the Council that care about you. Please think before you just vote for the incumbents.

Sometimes Technology forgets the customer

My wife and I upgraded our iPhones to the new OS8 software and it has been nothing but a pain in the rear end. This has got to be the worst upgrade I have ever seen with Apple. Just read many of the comments on many of the various web sites. BTW- when I shut off Wi-Fi many of the problems went away. So if you have an iPhone and have upgraded it and it is doing very strange things shut off your Wi-Fi. But having to spend hours re-configuring sounds etc is out and out dumb. It is almost as if you lost your phone and have to start over with a new one and in many cases your old data, well you forgot to back it up.

But then if you have an iPad beware they do even stranger things. Just read all the postings on various web sites and not the Apple ones. What may be the real problem is that Apple never tested the new software against all the various applications under the old operating system and new conflicts have popped up causing all of these problems.

This is a clear case of where a few engineers and designers at Apple believe that they know what you the customer wants and they know what is best for you. Under Apple vale of secret they don’t ask anyone. They live in their glass box with one-way glass the plot on what you want, even if you don’t want it.

Sort of like the politicians here in Indiana.

Sorry I wish I could continue but I have to go and see why Siri keeps calling out my name.

Two new SCAMS

Just another day but with two scams, the first some of you will think it is very real. But, to me it is another scam. Our talking head Indiana Governor was the subject of a headline newspaper article that he is testing the national waters. No chance whatsoever, but he must think he has. Actually I think he is running for Vice President but making believe he wants to be the big boss. Maybe instead he should come out to Geist and test our toxic water. Maybe he should test the water of rivers and streams hear his coal fired power plants before he wants to test the national waters. So far he has shown no leadership, rather a do nothing so he can’t screw up style of government. Based on the record of the Indiana House and Senate maybe that is a good idea.

The second scam came via the old fashion landline. “This is an important message from the IRS…”  You owe taxes and unless you pay immediately you will be arrested and taken before a US Magistrate and fined triple the amount you owe… Call 215-… right now to get instructions on payment. “Do not ignore this important call, you will go to jail.”

I was laughing so hard at the Pakistan accent my wife was looking at me in wonderment. Next step was to report the call to the FTC. Hopefully they catch these people soon. Don’t forget the IRS never calls they just sent nasty letters via snail mail.

Fishers Town Council Ture to Form Once Again

I am glad to see that the Fishers Town Council has not waivered from its policy not to listen to the Citizens of the Town of Fishers.  I was fearfully for a moment that the Council might change, but thank god they didn’t.

Recently they asked citizens to name a new park that they are building at a cost of $3.5 million. They got 72 suggested names and you would think they might have listened and maybe just maybe picked one. But true to form the Council once again didn’t listen and came up with there own one.  Thank goodness I was worried for a while. This continues a proud tradition of ignoring the citizens of the Town soon to become a City and only a City because the town folk were allowed to vote otherwise the town government would still be around.  So the ugly apartments and garage replace the beautiful treed entrance to Town Hall, the train station is being torn down to make way for more ugly structures, etc.

What can you do, this fall vote for every non-incumbent no matter what party they are, no matter what their policies are. It is time to shake up the ruling class that always knows what is best for everyone and therefore never listens; oh I forgot they do listen if you are a developer with big bucks.
